Personal Skills
The key to success is on the inside. The success is connectivity which is much more than knowing this or that. Connectivity, as a social and personal competency, it is the exposure to ourselves and others. It is values and virtues.People principally seek for connectivity. Connectivity goes in two directions. On one side are the activities of people geared towards influencing the environment in its meaning. People talking about something desires that the others adapt his view / presentation. The other goal of connectivity is to have a sense of belonging in a social environment, to adapt.
The connectivity within a system is described as self-reference, in contrast to the outside referential relation to the environment (World, other systems).
Earlier children used to grow up together with several adults, and they had siblings, and they were educated in this network of examinations and thoughtfulness. The multi-person household has decreased drastically and the life in undivided attention holds the danger that elementary virtues waste away, virtues like waiting, listening, being useful and saying please and thank you.
Even when these things smell like a relict, school, if it wants to contribute to the connectivity, has to make the student’s socialization and education a central point. It has to be a place where children learn to deal with themselves and others in a constructive manner.
It has to be a place where achievement is valued. Achievement always requires us to overcome obstacles, and the result: pride. Students should feel, as often as possible, that it is a cool feeling to have overcome and achieved something.
